I am happy to say that I am now a certified commercial drone pilot! I have enjoyed flying drones recreationally since 2015, and as of the Spring of 2022, I have earned my Part 107 Remote Pilot Airman Certification. This means that I am now able to offer aerial photography and videography as a new service. Recreational pilots are not legally able to use their images or videos "in furtherance of a business." In the past, I have tuned down numerous opportunities to use my drones for hire because I had not yet been certified.
The knowledge required to pass the Part 107 exam is much more in-depth than most people may realize. In order to earn the certification, a drone operator must learn all about airspace, be able to interpret aeronautical charts, understand weather systems and cloud formations, operational regulations, load balancing, and resource management. The breadth of knowledge required to pass the test is a bit daunting, but in the end it helps to prepare us to be safe operators as we are integrating drones into the national airspace.
I am working with a couple area realtors to provide aerial videos and still photos to help advertise their properties. Aerial photos can also be great gifts for unique properties! I'm looking forward to the many opportunities this certification will allow.
In addition to a few of my original DJI drones, I have recently added a Mavic Air 2S to the fleet, as well as a DJI Mini 2. These drones provide amazing quality! Get in touch if you would like images or video from a whole new perspective!
Do you have a collection of old slides or negatives that you would like to digitize? I personally had over 4,000 35mm negatives, and hundreds of color slides from my parents that had been sitting in a box for many years. I spent some time digitizing them, and it has been a lot of fun reliving old memories! Likewise, I can convert your old VHS tapes to either DVD or files that can be uploaded to YouTube, Facebook, etc.
Scan/Transfer Pricing:
24-exposure roll of film: $5
36-exposure roll of film: $7
